Diagonal view of a "Vientiane Style" house model on display at the National University of Laos.
The name "Vientiane Style" applies to several variations of a double-pitched, elevated floor house. I only saw one of those houses still standing in Vientiane. There might not be more than a few of them in the city. I kind of remember, but could be wrong, that Professor Souvannavong told me that there were only about four of them.
