Description |
SK is a 69 years old Vietnam ex-combatant who lives a quiet life in the neighborhood he helped to create, by lending and selling land to migrants from all around the country. He used to be a farmer far North when the war came. He was suddenly called to service and soon after he was put on a plane to Vientiane. The people in charge spoke a strange language, he remembers. One day, in the midst of a combat, the fragment of a bomb grazed his right eye. His fellow soldiers got him out to a safe zone. However, he lost his eye. He says he was lucky, because had that piece struck him frontally, he would have died. He thinks about that and laughs...
